How it works
You sign a power of attorney (POA) for a defined task. DARS (the Document Authentication and Registration Service, the government office that registers powers of attorney) registers it. Agar then acts for you at the right office, as your agent. You approve the scope and the published fee before any work starts.
What Agar does and does not do
Agar acts as an authorised agent under a registered power of attorney. Agar does not give legal advice and does not appear before any court. Advocacy work goes to a licensed advocate that you retain directly. Here, "legal tasks" means document, registry, and administrative tasks only.
What you can hand over
- Certificate and document tasks at government offices.
- Registry follow-up at DARS or at a woreda (the local district office).
- Renewals, filings, and form submissions in Addis Ababa and Adama.
- Errands tied to your POA, closed with photos and receipts.
Fees
Each fee is fixed and published before you pay. Official government fees are separate. They pass through at cost, and you see each receipt.
- POA intake + DARS registration + first action. USD 119. Timeline: 5 business days from POA receipt.
- Passport / ID renewal assistance. USD 99. Timeline: official SLA + 3 days.
Proof on every task
Reliable is easy to say. Agar shows you instead. Every task closes with proof:
- Geotagged photos from the office or site.
- Scans of every official receipt.
- A short written report on what was done.
Refund rule: "Service fee refunded if SLA missed for causes within Agar's control."
Common questions
Can I hire a local agent in Addis Ababa with a power of attorney?
Yes. That is Agar's core service. You sign the POA, DARS registers it, and Agar starts the task you approved.
Is Agar a legal proxy or a legal representative?
No. In Ethiopian usage those words describe an advocate. Agar is an authorised agent under a registered power of attorney, for administrative tasks only.
Can you get court documents?
Agar can collect certified copies of court files and registry extracts under your POA. Agar does not appear before any court and does not represent parties in a case.
I live outside Ethiopia. How do we start?
You send us the task from wherever you live. Agar confirms the scope and the fixed fee in writing. Then you sign the POA and work begins.
How do I know the work was really done?
Every task closes with geotagged photos, receipt scans, and a written report. You see the proof in your account before the task is marked done.
What does the money-back rule cover?
If Agar misses the published timeline for a cause within its control, the service fee comes back to you. Official office delays are outside that rule, and Agar never claims to change them.
